I have the LG VX 11000 and would like to use Visual Voicemail, but both LG and Verizon have stopped providing the necessary updates.  Is there any hope?

For the VX 11000?  Not likely,as it's several years old.  A nice, solid phone (I had the VX 10000, still do actually, and it's one of my favorites) but well past it's lifespan and no longer supported for updates.  Smiley Sad  The technology it uses to access internet and voicemail services is outdated too.  Kinda like trying to get one of your VHS tapes to play in your DVR or BluRay - it's just not going to work.
