why can't i choose this phone as a download option

When I am attempting to download something from the app store using my laptop my motox is the only phone that appears and my new windows HTC one m8 does not appear as a choice for anything.  Can someone help me figure out how to get it to recognize I no longer use the droid.

Do android and windows phones use the same app store? I'm not familiar with where you get apps for windows phones.

Lets figure this out together. As Elliew suspected, Droids and Windows phones use different app stores to download items and the apps are not able to be transferred from one phone to another. Is this what you are trying to do? What operating system does your laptop use?
