I added a JustKids plan for my son. He can't receive verification texts to be able to complete his setup of WhatsApp. It seems other applications might also not be able to complete. I searched on the forums and seems this issue has been going on for long time.

Is there anyway to turn off the 20 approved numbers on a temporary basis so I can get a verification code on my daughter's phone?

Good question! It's not possible to temporarily change that function, as it is one of the main features the plan is designed around. You would be able to change the actual plan on that line to open it up for other services. However, keep in mind that the Just Kids program is no longer available, so if you did decide to switch that line to a different program, it would be unavailable to re-select later.
