Will 4G ever be available for the Iphone 4 or do I need to upgrade to the 4S?

Neither the iPhone 4 or the iPhone 4s are 4G/LTE (Verizon 4G network) capable phones. They simply do not have the hardware necessary to enable them to be used on a LTE network. A software upgrade will not change that fact.
If you want a LTE capable iPhone, you need to wait (like the rest of us) until the next iPhone version which is rumored to be coming out this Fall (Aug./Sept./Oct. pick your date).

Only one close to the 4g iPhone is atat with hspra. Its always been that way. On the latest update atat showed 4g that doesent mean they have it though. 3g is fine for me. I would rather have a good phone then the hast speed. I love apple because there carefull about when they put out a new phone. Every July to sept they add something.

Thanks, Spiral and gina7239, for your reply.
Hello armando57,
Thanks for posting. Both the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S are not 4G LTE compatible and we currently don't have any information regarding if or when it'll be available. I do encourage you to sign up for email alerts to receive updates. Thanks for being part of Verizon Wireless.
