Is the 4s hot spot capable? If so how does it work?
Both the iPhone 4 & iPhone 4s are Hotspot capable.
If you are asking how good they work, the hotspot on my iPhone 4 works great for my needs. Provides a connection to my tablet and/or laptop when and where I need it.
Yes... After you add it to your account you can go into settings and network the first time and turn it on. After that you can use your 3G speeds and connect up to 5 other devices which includes computers iPads iPods as a wifi connection to these devices. Or you can connect your phone to the computer if you dont want to connect by wifi. Meaning if you don't have Internet on your laptop and you want to your useing your phone as the Internet supply to the computer. If you connect through wifi you have to put in a passcode on the computer so you don't have to worry about others taking your Internet. If you know how to connect your computer like at Starbucks etc then you can do this but at home or traveling with the power of your own phone.
You have to pay $20 for 2 gigs but the good thing if you have the new plan you combine the 2gigs with whatever data plan you have and you can use more then the 2 gigs technically but if you use more the total for both hotspoting and reg data you have to pay $10 per gig of data. So if you wanted the 2gig reg data and then you had 2gig hotspot = 4gig for $50. Next one up from there is $70 for 7gigs 1 gig = 1000 or Alittle more mb.
