Phone shows I have 4 bars and have not had any issues where I use it until yesterday with this message. Any ideas?

nothing working to have cellular data activated. no help from verizon or apple

Not in roaming area and 228 did nothing. Said updated but still no cellular
data. Very very frustrating

Same thing happens to me when I leave anywhere with wifi.....I dial *228 option 2 wait for network pop up turn the phone off for a minute and then turn it back on.....advice straight from a Verizon phone rep

Had you just gotten off of wi-fi, it happens to me 50% of the time if I don't remember to turn on the radio, cellular voice and data roaming, I get the same message, I dial *228 then 2 wait until the activation message pops up and then wait until the 3G turns into 0 and you have no bars, turn the phone off wait 1-2 minutes turn it back on and you should be all set. I think *228 1 activates the phone

Having the same issue! Only have had the iPhone 4s since January. Been on tech support A LOT. Have 3 replacement phones here and still the same issue on each phone. Everyone at verizon has been very nice but problem has yet to be resolved...
