Hi all, my husband and I are beyond overdue for an upgrade. We've been out of contract for years now. I know, stupid me.
So I've decided to get two iPhone 4s. The price shows $149.99 so logically when the $50 is applied, the phone should come to $99.99, but noooooo.
The price is inflated to $199.99 bringing it down to $149.99. What a cluster!! This seems patently unfair to me. Yep, I know life isn't fair, however this really is ludicrous - does Verizon really think a customer wouldn't notice? Or be that stupid? I can easily switch to another carrier but we live at the base of some foothills in SoCal and Verizon gets the best signal - though sometimes THAT doesn't even work. Any suggestions? Nice ones please.

Jenny-Q What Tidbits said is true and just a Heads Up some new Users are having issues with the iPhone 5 and the Head phone jack. If that is the Case as some are reporting you are probably better off not Buying one.
But if do decide to get a ( iPhone 5 ) witch is fine i would check the Jack first thing after getting the phone set Up or a Few Days there after and if your Unit show any of the signs of the issue you have 14 Days to get a Replacement.. i Just thought you should know and good Luck with the Unit you Choose. b33

You already got the discount... It was applied when you saw the $149.99 price. If you logged out around that time you would have seen the $199 price, but as soon as you logged in it will show the $149.99 price. If you check your receipt before you completed your order it would show the $199.99 price then $50 credit as well. There has been a large discussion about it multiple times. That's how it is done on their website, and has been that was for a long while now. Tomorrow I should be able to show you screenshots of what I am talking about.

Thanks bunches for your answers and comments! I appreciate you all taking the time to help me understand this. Now I have another question (of course).
I went ahead and ordered the two phones and now I'm second guessing myself - what a surprise! I was thinking that I should have ordered the iPhone 5 and my husband the 4S - or maybe get him a 5 as well. I know I have 14 days to exchange, but since it will be weeks before the 5 is available, I don't know how an exchange would work. One of our old cells is not working, so I don't want to wait an inordinate amount of time. Whew - think I just answered my own question!
I suppose I should just stick with the 4S - at least accessories are readily available. Thanks again!

Stick with the 4S. You'd have to wait weeks to get it.
