After unlocking, Cannot use Verizon SIM?

have not been able to find an answer to this so here is a brief of my problem

I have used iPhone 4S for 60 days and get it unlocked. According to the staff at the phone shop, my iPhone 4S was unlocked successfully.

After that, I swapped the ESN from iPhone 4S to Samsung Galaxy Nexus on 4G LTE, which is obviously a lot faster (off the topic)

Anyway, basically, I switched from the iPhone plan to the 4G LTE plan but since, the iPhone was unlocked, I was hoping that the new plan can work on it.

After inserting the Galaxy Nexus SIM card into the iPhone 4S, it just cannot get activated showing that the SIM is not compatible with the phone and blah blah blah...

I'm not particularly sure if that is because to activate a Verizon SIM card on an unlocked phone, I have to get a representative to get it work? Or the iPhone 4S was just not unlocked successfully?

I mean do I need to get a Verizon staff to activate it for me and like if I travel overseas and use another CDMA card, should it work fine?

Activation without swapping my plans(ESN) back onto the iPhone is what I want to do right now.

Any hints, suggestions, comments appreciated.

Are you trying to use a Verizon 4G LTE SIM card in the iphone 4S?

Please post back and clarify what SIM card you are using.

Yes，i tried to use the 4G LTE card inside the iPhone . Is that the problem？

Yes, you can only use the supplied Vodafone SIM card or an international SIM card in the iphone. The SIM unlock on the iphone was for international use only. The iPhone 4S functions like a standard 3G smartphone on the Verizon Wireless network. It doesn't need a SIM card to work on the CDMA network used by Verizon Wireless.

Ok, so since I can have only one contract with Verizon, which is currently on the Galaxy Nexus, the iPhone will simply have no 3G network on it, am I interpreting it right?

One more question, there are three major carriers back in China, which of those are on GSM, CDMA and WCDMA, will this unlocked iPhone work on CDMA only or any or those?

You can go to the store and put the iPhone on a new line and have 3G service. You can't use a 4g sim on a 3G phone to my knowledge. Do you like the nexus?

Even if you have another sim you still need the line of service on while traveling. To my understanding that's what I was told.
