Ever since I updated to ios 5.1 my iphone 4s has been getting erratic signals, at times it drops to no service or searching. Anyone have issue? Any solution? Thanks

Verizon wouldn't do much if it's anything related to the software, you would have to call Apple, they would be happy to assist you

Thanks. I am more interested in if some of you are having issue. Its Verizon approved upgrade too so you saying Verizon wouldn't do much doesn't have much credibility to it.

I have not had any issues with the update, but I agree with victorbraga98....if the issue is truly related to the iOS update then it will be Apple that will need to address the issue, not VZW. There is a difference in the updates related to iOS products versus the way they appear to be handled with other devices. The way I understand it, the carrier does not approve the iOS updates (or stiffle them). The updates are available for any eligible iOS device when they are released (they are released directly from Apple either through iTunes or since iOS 5 over-the-air. Now if the issue is on VZW's end then yes, they will need to address whatever the problem is, but if the issue is related to some sort of error or bug directly in the iOS then Apple will (eventually) be the ones that need to address it.

As far as your issue goes...have you tried resetting or restarting your iPhone to see if that helps? Also, you can try *228 option 2. You can always contact VZW to make sure there isn't a tower issue or anything else going on.

No change in how my 4S is behaving. I was hoping to see a little battery life, but I can't say one way or the other just yet.

But otherwise, my phone is working as well as it ever did.

Same. I upgraded to 5.1 last night and my data connection has been really erratic since. I can send and receive calls but the internet goes from extremely slow to totally non-responsive. Wifi works fine.

Agreed,

Ever since I upgraded to 5.1 on my iPhone 4S (VZW) I'm constantly seeing the top left antenna signal change into "searching" instead of saying "Verizon". Wi-Fi works fine but, now data is incredibly slower. Yes I've rebooted several times, yes I've done the *228 option 2 bit and still getting same issues. Even when sending txts it just hangs in limbo sometimes taking up to 2 mins to send out. Occasionally it even fails to send out and I end up getting that red apostrophe that the message didn't send out. Internet on 3G is so slow now. I'm thinking of reverting back to 5.0.1

Verizon I hope someone is reading or taking note of this. A friend of mine with same specs mentioned he's been having the same issue and initially thought that it was just him. On a few calls after I've dialed it can take anywhere up to 15-25 seconds for the phone to even start calling (ringing in this case). It's like the phone is searching for coverage and pretending to call but, in fact I see that its "searching".

Someone help!!

my signal has been moving up and down alot more than ios5.0.1.

I could be next to another 4s with ios 5.0.1 and I definitely see more movement with my signals in the same exact spot.

I have given up on this issue for now as I feel like its really out of my control. I hope the fix is on the way.
