My iPhone 4 was lost about a month ago and has since been deactivated and replaced. I received a text today saying my phone was found and they did a hard reset to get my phone number. Is the phone number available on a deactivated phone and retrievable by resetting the phone? TIA.

A hard reset on an iPhone does not remove apps, songs, contacts, or anything else stored on your iPhone .. it basically just reboots the phone without following the normal shutdown procedures. Were you able to remotely wipe the data from your phone after it was lost?

Thanks tikibar. I was not able to remotely wipe the phone. It was pass code protected, but I'm guessing that's pretty easy to reset and the hard reset probably disables the pass code?
