Connecting w/ WiFi

Just got my 4s, having trouble connecting with my own WiFi. I go to Settings then to Choose a Network. Nothing happens. Do i need to do something with the IP address under settings, DHCP, BootP, or Static.  thanks, lost in os & 1s...

You go to settings then turn wifi on and then click the network name of what you want to use.

I have internet connection at home, but not anywhere else. Friends can get connected but not me. What do I need to do to get multiple networks???

My best suggestion is to go to your closes verizon store and asked them. I go to settings then to WiFi (on) and still nothing happens.

I've tried adding a network and recieve a message "Could not sacn for wireless networks."  I'm on my laptop with full bars using WiFi and my husband has no issues with his Droid.  I was able to connect previously and now I can't.  Help please!
