Data Usage
Anthony_Curtis

Using the Verizon web page for details about data usage, it appears when connected to my home wifi that pictures being sent via "Messages" is being charged against data plan and not using the wifi to send data.

I have selected a lower data plan due to the fact I am at home most of the time, and on my home wifi.

Fact or Fiction:

When I send a picture or any other multimedia text message, and connected to my home wifi does it count against my cellular data?

MMS and picture messages use your cellular data connection to transfer the information through the Verizon Wireless network. I don't know if it actually counts against the data plan or not, but I have always figured it in as a part of my calculations.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
