I like my iPhone and I liked my droid2.  The pro's and con's for both are similar enough that you can't go wrong with either device.  I believe sales people nowadays believe they know what's best for their customers without listening to them.

I think you are right. The sad part is that it is not how they are trained. Verizon Wireless is very firm in requiring representatives to qualify a customer before selling them a particular phone, but this can clash with the perception of the sales reps.

You people pretending to know that the Verizon sales reps are biased toward one phone or the other need to grow up. You don't know what you are talking about. Indicting all of the reps because of your isolated experience makes you no better than the rep you dealt with. Sure they have favorites, just like you do. But they are about moving phones, period.

Comments of that nature belong at Boy Genius.

I went into a Verizon store a week ago and the rep was raving about the iPhone to a customer next to me. I went in today and a different rep was bashing the iPhone and raving about the Droid X to me. Personal preference I suppose

Ok so my contract ended with t-mobile and for my birthday I wanted to sign a contract with Verizon and get the iphone. I shopped around for a bit and everytime I went into a verizon store ( I tried about 3-4 different stores), each sales rep tried to sell me an android phone and told me the iphone is inferior for this reason or that... EVERY SALESMAN!! Do they not get commission on the iphone sales or what?!

So anyway, I meet with with one saleman who shows me a Samsung Fascinate and how close to the iphone 4 it is with the layout, side scrolling apps pages, resolution, etc... So i went ahead and got it. Now the Fascinate has potential to be a great phone but this thing is so buggy and slow, and there is no signs of samsung or verizon coming out with the updated 2.2 or 2.3 version update.

So my 14 day return period ends this Sunday and I want to return it to get what I originally wanted; THE iPHONE. I call my salesman up and tell him this and he gives me the go around saleguy speach of how I should keep this phone and he could trouble shoot it for me, the update wont fix my problems, etc... etc...

All i want it an iphone. haha. jeesh.

Does anybody know if I return my fascinate in stores and purchase the iphone onlinem how long it might take me to receive it? I dont want to be stuck without a phone for too long. Thanks!

Don't let sales reps talk you one way or another, everyone has their own opinions. If you have done your research and decide you want a particular device just demand what you want, It was kind of silly to walk out of the store with a facinate instead of the Iphone you wanted.

let's start out with, apple built a phone where if you touch it wrong you lose signal, and the fix is duct tape or a specific case. not only that, but as said, even on 2.1, fascinates have flash (flash lite + skyfire = the whole flash experience, with few exceptions). with 2.2, you get flash in every nook and cranny, natively. with the fascinate, you don't need to void your warranty to replace the battery yourself. you also can't ever upgrade the storage of the phone like you can with the fascinate. it's also cheaper to go from a base fascinate to one with 32GB of storage (even on day one, I got my 32GB card from verizon for dirt cheap). you also get an infinite contrast ratio on the screen on the fascinate. the fascinate will get 2.2, and you can get it now with no delay.

Iphone started the touch screen craze.  As for the iphone not being customizable, most people know that going in.  I have it because I like how well apple products are built.  I have heard the argument of no flash on the iphone, butI haven't missed it.  If you don't like the iphone get something else.  Those that do like them will get them.  It seems some need to try and justify their purchase so they have to tell people why they are right for choosing their phone and why everyone else is wrong.  Buy what you like and let everyone else enjoy what they have.
