FaceTime picture freezing or going solid black

Anyone else ever have this?

Symptoms:

FaceTime video of the person you are calling freezes in the first minute of the call.  This problem appears to be intermittent in nature and experienced when using several wifi connections.  The problem can cause the video of the person you are calling to freeze or go black, however they can still see your video stream in real-time.  The problem is persistent even after a full reboot of the device, the only way around it so far is to restart the FaceTime session.

Device:

Apple iPhone 4s 64GB (MD281LL) iOS v5.1.1 (9B206)

Looking over the "Diagnostics and Usage" Logs there are a lot of FaceTime logs being generated and sent to Apple.

99mustang232,

Good morning! I love using the FaceTime on my iPad, so I know this would be a bummer! Is this still an issue for you? Beyond turning FaceTime off/on and rebooting, it may be best to contact Apple for support. If the WiFi a consistent high-speed connection? Does this happen on more than one WiFi network? Keep me posted so I can continue to help.

Thanks,

run a bandwith test when you are having the facetime problems, maybe something is being downloaded etc

Might have better results on apple's forums since verizon has no involvement with facetime
