Friend gave me an iPhone 4 for verizon

Hello, my frined gave me an iphone 4 because he got e new phone. It needs to be activated and needs a new sim card. Is verizon able to activate this as a prepaid phone? And if so, what am i looking at as far as costs and details? Thank you!

Yes, you can activate it on a prepaid plan. You have 2 options on prepaid plans for smartphones

1. Unlimited talk and text w/ 2GB Data-$60 monthly

2. Unlimited talk and text w/ 4GB Data-$70 monthly

The prepaid plans do not have a contract or any activation fees.

The iPhone 4 does not use a SIM card on Verizon.

Yes, it ABSOLUTELY matters.

You CANNOT use a GSM model on Verizon.  Prepaid or otherwise.

Your title stated  "Friend gave me an iPhone 4 for Verizon".  So, is it a Verizon phone or not?

I was told it was verizon by him but i'm now assuming i need to get more detailed info lol

Yeah, then you will want to look at options compatible with AT&T.
