Getting an iPhone4S now that the 5 is out?

Maybe this has been discussed but here goes....

I have a family plan with 3 lines (2 smart and 1 dumb phone) with unlimited data on the smartphones. One of the smartphones (the original Droid) is eligible for an upgrade and is barely usable. I don't want an iPhone5. A 4S or even a 4 would do fine. Would it be possible to upgrade the droid to a 4S/4 and still keep the unlimited plan. Or do we lose both our unlimited data plans if we upgrade even a single line.

You would lose the unlimited data plan on whichever line you upgraded (subsidized a new phone). Your other line would retain it's unlimited data plan until you actually subsidized a new phone for that line.

You would have to pay full retail buy less you use the dumb Phones upgrade

You have options! You can keep your unlimited data plan if you upgrade at full retail price or you can qualify for a discount if you're eligible by choosing a current tiered data plan or a share everything plan. Please be aware if you choose a share everything plan, you will have to change all the lines on your account. Here's a great link for more info!

I see the link, but what is a current tiered data plan? Can the new 4S remain on the family plan but pay 2GB, 4GB or whatever? Everyone else can stay on the unlimited in the family plan????

yes, we have 2 unlimited droids & 1 2g iphone, all on a shared plan for minutes & unlim text/pic messaging.
