So my iPhone 4s was stolen. I suspended the service, but I don't have the money to play the $160 for a replacement phone right now, so I can't make a claim for at least a week from now. But I need a phone, so if I were to switch to an older phone for the time being would it void my insurance and make it impossible to make a claim? I've never had it happen in the past, but I paid full price for my iPhone and I don't want to take any chances on not being able to make the claim and have to pay 300 to 500 to get another iPhone. Help please!!

I would put an old phone on a new line without a contract so you don't lose your iPhone insurance and everything. Because that new line would have no contract so you can suspend without billing after you get the new phone replacement or cancel it without a fee.

Hello thewrongway,
I'm sorry to hear about your phone! I understand the need for an active device. You are able to activate an old device and process an insurance claim for your iPhone 4s within 60days from the incident date. Keep in mind if the old phone is not a smartphone and you currently have unlimited data that feature will fall off. If you have a tier data plan no changes will be made. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.
