HELP!!!! Visual Voicemail/Notifications not working on a week old iphone 4s

Even when I know I have a voicemail b/c the person texts me saying they left a voicemail there is no notification and my visual voicemail box is blank. What do I need to do to fix this issue? I have been on the phone with technical support for close to 2 hours over the past two days with no real answers yet.

Is this your first iphone? Did you set up your voicemail? If you are transferring from any other phone, you need to setup your voicemail again because it is a different system from the standard Verizon Wireless voicemail.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

You have to do a greeting through the voicemail visual under phone then voicemail for things to be seen. If you have done that vzw will blame it on apple but it might be both networks.

If you have the Onavo app on your Iphone, it will cause Visual Voicemail and MMS to not work.  You have to first delete the Onavo app AND go into Settings > General and remove your Onavo profile.  I spent hours reading discussion forums and calling Verizon Tech Support before I found the solution.  After I did this, I was able to reset my voicemail and everything worked again.

Onavo was the culprit in my situation, was stumping Verizon and Apple.  Thanks mbevis!
