How Do I Copy My Android Calendar to an iPhone 4?

When in chat with a Verizon Customer Service employee, I was assured I could copy my Android contacts and calendar to an iPhone 4 should I purchase one (which I did).  The contacts came over easily, but not the calendar program.  I cannot find any help here or on the Google site.  I don't want to enter the data manually.  Please help.

Was any of your events saved to your Gmail account calendar? You can view your calendar from the Google website.

What do you use to keep your calander?
