I am traveling to Ireland. Can I use my Iphone for internet free by connecting to local internet?

That sounds like a wonderful trip. You can connect to the available Wifi's while in Ireland to avoid using and paying for data. If you do not want to use data I suggest completing turning off cellular data so apps are not able to use data without our permission. Settings>Cellular. Have a wonderful trip.
