I have a I Phone 4 16g and the phone is in mint condition never dropped.  I have an issue that my sleep button no longer works at all.  I spoke to quite a few people that have all had the same issue. One girl went to verizon in smithfield RI and had a i phone 4 and when you have a extended insurance you would still would get the same phone sent to you but instead verizon supplied her with a 4s. 2 months later i run into the problem and go into the store i bought the phone from and they will not do anything at all for me.. commom issue for the i phone and have been a long time customer of verizon and no one will take care of the issue... Anyone else run into this issue and phone has been replaced.

The 16 gig hasn't been offered since the 4s came out over 18 months ago. You are well out of warranty and if you do not have insurance or apple care there is nothing that vzw can do .try the apple store they might could repair it for less than the cost of the insurance deductible

Hello to you Kevin8510!

The sleep/power button is a pretty important button! I'm sorry to hear that it isn't working properly for you.

We definitely want to help out in any way we can!  As Soupcannon mentioned, we would want to verify your warranty.  If you're still covered under your warranty and the issue is a physical defect not caused by any damage we should be able to replace it.

Please consider your account options.  If you have extended warranty, let us know!  If you have insurance, please contact Asurion at www.phoneclaim.com.  If you have Apple Care, please contact Apple Support at 800-275-2273.

I'm confident this information will get you on the right path.

Thank you!

Mine is also doing this (also a 4).  I have the insurance, but it is less than a year old.  Will I have to pay $100 to get a replacement, or will it be replaced for free?

@kcflyer,

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the power/sleep button. But don't worry because I'm here to help!

If you are still under the warranty your device can be replaced at no cost as long as there is no damage. But first try this :

Hold down the power Key until the phone shows "Slide to power off". Release the power button and hold down the Home key for a few seconds. This should help.

If you still have the issue then contact us for further assistance.
