I recently dropped my iPhone 4 in a pool and it was damaged and won't come on. If i have Total Equipment Protection, how much will it be to recieve a new one?

You can check with Assurion to see what your deductible is.

I believe its about $168 = tax $173. Im in the same boat; what sucks is that... why pay over $150 for a FREE phone?

Because that phone is not really "free" unless you are willing OR eligible to sign a new 2 year contract. If you would rather not sign a new contract or eligible to do so that phone will cost you ~$500.

Not everyone prefers to sign contracts for service and people who do sometimes damage their phones and need them replaced prior to fulfilling their current contract. In this case when you walk into a Verizon store or any other retailer the iPhone 4 would NOT be free.
