I have a 4S which done with 2 yr contract and I got the new Iphone 5 with Verizon. Is it possible to unlock my 4S or 5, either one.
I will be travelling overseas and I want to use a local SIM when I get there.

Yes. Call Customer Service and request an unlock code.
As long as you meet the criteria, you should be able to get the code.

Hi there,
Thanks for the link and I meet the criteria.
I called the number and they gave nothing, but said it is unlocked.
I checked the IMEI on the internet website, but it still shows locked.
I am worried to travel with it and get stock.
Which one to believe inernet website or verizon staff.
By the way, they gave me no code but said it is unlocked. Do you agree?

"They" said which one is unlocked?
Try a different SIM card while you are still here. See if it works.

they told me 4S is unlocked now.
I had to switch my 5 OFF and then activate the 4S to unlock. Then activate the 5 again.
But if I insert a different sim card from a friend, it reboots and ask to activate.
Am I doing something wrong or Verizon just fooled me?
I am going overseas tomorrow and your help is highly appreciated.
