ThatCatGirl, you can indeed add a line to aquire another iPhone (up to 5 lines are allowed per account) and 'swap' it to your current line but as I think you already suspect, you will be signing an additional 2 year contract for the new line which means that new line cannot be canceled without paying an Early Termination Fee (ETF). The ETF for an iPhone purchase is $350 minus $10 for each month of the contract completed.
Hope this helps in your decision.
Good luck

If you go this route, make sure key you put a "dumb" phone on the new line after swapping the new iPhone to your existing line. This means you only pay $9.99 (+ tax of course) for the new line. But do the math as the tax/fees add up, so depending on the state and various fees, this could be between say $280-350 in line costs of the two year contract. Add to this the two year contract purchase price of the new iPhone, and you may not be very far off the cost of buying a new one, off contract, which you then activate on your existing line.

If you could please provide a link with re-certified iPhones, I would appreciate it. If not, a link to re-certs in general would be good. thanks, Katieh

Business account can have more than five.
Additionally, I believe that you can have two accounts as personal accounts with one having five and another handling the other two lines using your example of number of lines
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Log Into www.icloud.com with your Apple ID and Password, (assuming that you remembered to lock both the Locations And Accounts from being changed with the GPS and Find my IPhone turned On, and with ICloud Fully Configured on your IPhone), you hopefully should be able to find where the IPhone is located by logging into that Website.

Family Plans are a lot more Expensive then just a 1 Line Plan, for example: 2 Lines of Service cost $69.98 for 700 minutes, where as a single line plan cost $69.99 for Unlimited Minutes (at least where I live).

P.S. That is why I recently changed my second line from a Cell Phone Line to a 4G LTE USB Modem Line (when it just recently came up for Upgrade Eligible Status on 04-02-2012, and then downgraded my Primary Line from a 700 Minute Family Share Plan, to an Unlimited Nationwide Talk and Text Plan.

Yes you can add a Second Line, but it will be under a New Two Year Contract, so that is why they are suggesting that you buy a Cheap Non-Smart-Phone for your stolen line, at least until it comes up for Contract Renewal, and then cancel the second line when that contract expires in two years.
