Iphone 4s call with no sound?

i have encountered a rather odd issue with my phone lately... when i try to call people it will connect but i dont hear them not even the dailing tone .. is anyone else encountering this? I restored my phone the other night to try to fix this with no luck

I had that issue and apple had to go internally to fix. If you can't get to an apple store have Verizon send you one. It's a receiver issue it only work when I put it on speaker. I put my ear near the top of the phone but not the whole phone put it against my face so I know I'm not muting it or have the number board on the screen instead of the other screen.

I have been having a similar problem...can't hear my phone ring,nor text sound......

I'm sorry to hear of the audio issues you are having with your iPhone 4S. I know how important it is to have a working phone and want to help get this resolved.

Are you still having audio issues when making a call? Does it happen with every call you make?

I recommend restarting your phone and retesting. If you are still having this issue please post back and I'll be more than happy to further assist you.

This happened to me in 2/12. I got a brand new iPhone 4s and I could not hear any audio at all. Apple swapped it out within the first 14 days of receiving it. This was only the beginning of my nightmare. The iPhone 4s has now been exchanged 4 times! 

The current issue is...  3G CELL DATA is mostly not available. I pay $30 per month for a data plan. It's rarely available.

I will sue this company. I recommend you all do, too. -Small Claims.

Thanks for your response!....I found out that the phone has a silencer button

that I would push accidentally and now I no longer have

that problem!

I am having same issue with my new iphone.  I can't hear people who call me.  I have to put it on speaker and highest volume and barely hear them.  Any suggestions?  I will go to Verizon if I can't figure it out.

I found out that I was pushing the "silence button"

by accident!.....It's at the top left hand side.

I am embarrassed to admit that I could not hear my phone ringing, hear message alerts, or any other sounds I had programmed my phone to hear only to discover that I had accidentally moved the mute button on the upper left side of my Iphone 4s just enough to keep me from seeing that the button was moved and keep me from hearing the sounds. Once I slid the button all the way toward the front of the phone, I got sounds.
