I got a 4S because a handful of different technicians from different Verizon stores all said that when I when overseas (US actually, Saipan Northern Mariana islands US Territory) that I could load a local GSM SIM no worries and I had the instructs to do it. I was told the phone was unlocked which we all know is a joke. Anyway, even with Verizon Global Services really unlocking the phone I find out that local SIMS do not work in the 5.0 operating system and after the Apple 4 came out it was about 6 months or so before they would work. I saw this on a tech website. Anybody else find this and will a SIM fix be out eventually? Stuck in Saipan with a 4S smart phone that does not work and the **bleep** of it is I have a local working dumb cell that is.....you guessed it Verizon!
