It's called "Caller Id Blocking"

Caller ID Blocking allows you to block your number from being displayed through Caller ID, and can either be done permanently or temporarily.

Caller ID Blocking is an included feature on your account that can be activated either on a call-by-call basis or applied to all calls you make. You don’t need to do anything to get this feature.

Caller ID Blocking
Use the steps below to have the words "Private," "Anonymous," “Restricted Number” or some other indicator appear instead of your phone number:

On a single call – Dial *67 + the number

On all calls to a specific number – Dial *82 + the number

On all calls

Go to the Change Features page in My Verizon.

If you have multiple lines on your account, select your device and click Next.

    1. Click Add next to Caller ID Blocking.

    2. Click Next at the bottom of the page.

    3. Select the date you’d like the changes to go into effect and click Next.

    4. Review the changes to your account for accuracy and click Submit.

You’ve successfully activated Caller ID Block for all calls you make from your mobile phone.

www.blockmycellphonenumber.com

Even if you attempt to block your number through *67 or *82 or through your cell phone provider, many providers offer services and software that allow others to see your blocked number.  The interesting thing is that multiple providers offer the same services and your "blocking request" can be trumped out by another provider's advanced software. And they do this without your knowing!

To truly block your number, and prevent rejected texts / calls do the following. Route your call through a third party which is reputable and guaranteed.  This way you are not blocked, however, your Caller ID is disguised.
