Mobile Hotspot problems - iPhone 4

The problem started happening before iOS 6,

I used to pay for the $20 a month tethering service, but sometime at the end of me having that plan and switching to the Share Everything plan, i lost the ability to use my mobile hotspot.

My iPad 2 connects fine to my phone via the hotspot, but it won't connect to the internet. I can't even get to google.com which is always what I test for internet connectivity.

I know this happened before my update to iOS 6, but I can't pin point to exactly when it happened, before or after I switched plans.

I used to have unlimited data + 2 GB of mobile hotspot.

Now I have the Share Everything plan where they advertise I can use it within the realms of my data "bucket".

I feel like its a Verizon service issue but I don't know.

Any ideas of how to fix this, apple or Verizon?

You have to do *228 if you do a plan change I think.

I know when I connect to my computer and it says connected but no Internet it's because the security isent matched up the password is fine but on the computer you can change type of security. It has to match wap or whatever the type is on the iPhone. I don't know if the iPad is different that since there both apple it might not have that problem. I thought of that in part of your comments. The iOS 6 might have changed it to not match it.

rpnctc - It's like their talking to each other, but they don't understand the words coming out of each others mouths! Gina7239 offered some good advice there. Have you tried switching out the passphrase/password used to access your hotspot? I would also do an alternate reset on both devices. Simply hold down both the Power and home buttons simultaneously for about 15 seconds. Each device should shut down and reset on their own. Turn on the hotspot service on your iPhone, and then turn on wifi on the iPad and try to connect. Let us know if these tips help out, and if you need additional assistance. We are here to help!

Thank you both and take care!
