My iPhone 4 which I got in August 2012 started acting up about 10 days ago. At first the screen went black and I had to do a soft reset and since then I will have perfect service and it will drop the call. This evening it dropped my call 6 times! Is there anything Verizon can do or do I have to get a new phone? I don't have any type of protection plan and I'm not due to upgrade until August.

I regret to learn of the issues with your device abalhawk! I completely understand the need of a working device at all times. Where do you experience the dropped calls? Does this happen in all locations? Lets try this, go to settings > general > reset > reset network settings.
Then dial *228 Send and choose option number 2.
Test out and let us know how it goes.
