I'm new to the forum, sorry if this is a repeat but I cannot find any answers anywhere else online. I'll preface by saying that this is probably a limitation of the iPhone voice mail ecosystem but I need someone to at least confirm my thinking...Here's the scenario...A friend has a dumb phone and has a distribution list for a weekly voice message/memo to various contacts. Before I upgraded to the iPhone, I had a blackberry and received this weekly voice message without a problem (it was a weekly beach report). Since switching to the iPhone I no longer receive the weekly voice message/memo. My friend who sends the message each week has mentioned that because I'm an iPhone user I'll no longer get it but he couldn't explain why. So here I am asking...Why? Is there a way around it? Does he need to do something different from his end so iPhone users also receive, (other than get an iPhone - he's a cheapskate)? Thanks in advance for any help.

The voicemail no longer works like it used to it is controlled by apple for the iPhone so I don't know if you can directly send voicemail like on the blackberry and other devices
