Poor call quality, others cannot hear me

Hello, I recently purchased an iPhone 4S a few months ago. I have been experiencing issues where the person on the other end can barely hear me at all. I'm told it sounds like I'm underwater. I've tested it by having someone call me with it and can confirm the bad quality.

I did have a case on the iPhone, so I went ahead and removed it to see if that would help, but I am still experiencing the same problems. Any ideas? This is my first iPhone, I use it for work and unfortunately am unable to participate in any calls at this time due to others being unable to hear me. Thanks in advance for the help!

Have you verified that you aren't blocking your mic location?

Yes, mic location is not blocked…too many people are complaining of this, some of whom don't even utilize a cover at all.
