I have a ringtone that was emailed to me and  I want save it as a ringtone on my phone? Can this be done? I have an iPhoneS4. Thanks

Yes, it's a kinda convoluted process, but...

Save it to somewhere on the computer.

make your own using the app 'Ringtone' or 'RingtoneDJ'..., they have to be less than 30 secs long.

Any existing ringtones needd to have the extention *.mpr ( if they are made from mp4 files you can simply edit them changing the extention to mpr.

Any ringtones with the extention *.mpr can simply be 'dragged and dropped' into your iTunes library into 'ringtones'

Then select add all or selected ringtones to your iPhone at the next sync ( this can now be sync'd over your WiFi using iOS5)

I did these steps but have two questions -

 

in my itunes list is says "tones" and the ringtones are in there. Is that right?

 

Secnd, after what looks like a good sync, I can't find them in my phone. Where are they?
