This is by far the worse phone I have ever had!! Tracking this iPhone is a joke! The police will not do anything about it. Save your money!! Don't buy this phone.

Do not buy the insurance! Its a money pit! The Droid is better!!!!!!!

I have had 2 phone stolen and both times no one wanted to help!! Police, Verizon, & the money hungry insurance companies!!

Also you have to pay for every feature on this phone!!! SUCKS!!!!! It ISN'T all that they say it is. Its just a hyped up sales pitch!!!

The better question is why have you had your phone stolen TWICE?

And how is the iPhone any different in this regard than the Droid phones? The only difference is the price of the insurance, they are just as unhelpful regardless of what phone you use.

Just curious...how is a stolen iPhone and it's recovery (or lack of recovery) process any different than any other device? This is an honest question. A friend of mine lost her Droid device and the police wouldn't do anything about it other than file a police report. The carrier (it was NOT VZW) wouldn't do anything. The insurance covered the stolen phone...of course it required deductible. If I'm not mistaken, that is the same procedure as the iPhone would be if it were lost/stolen and you had insurance on it (or AppleCare Plus if you have the 8 GB iPhone 4 or the 4s devices).

As far as having to pay for every feature on this phone...which features are you referring to? Are they free on every other device legitly (not using some technique that is not acceptable with the manufacturer or carrier)? Not EVERY feature on the iPhone requires payment....but yes, some do...just as some features require payment on other devices also.

As far as it not being "all that they say it is"....the same can (and has been) said about every popular device. That's an opinion statement. For some, it IS all that they say it is and more. For others, it isn't. And for many, it's all that they want/need in a device and makes them happy. If it doesn't fit your needs or expectations then of course you should find a device that does.

Finally, as far as the tracking of the iPhone being a joke...IF you activated the "Track My iPhone" feature then you can normally get a pretty good idea where your iPhone is located. It doesn't guarantee you'll get it back, but it is a tool that at least helps narrow down where it may be. It also gives you the ability to wipe all of your info from the phone so that at least your info won't be compromised. If you didn't activate it then unfortunately, that feature does nothing for you. I would think if you already experienced one phone stolen (you didn't say if they were both iPhones or not so for arguments sake we will say they were) you would make sure to activate that feature IF it wasn't on the first device. Also, unfortunately, if deciding that the iPhone is the worst device you have ever had is heavily related to your unlucky run of having 2 phones stolen and the police nor the carrier finding it for you...you should be aware that the same will likely happen regardless of device or carrier.

At any rate, good luck with whatever your replacement device may be...but be prepared for another unpleasant experience if you continue to be prone to stolen phones. It can become an expensive situation to go through, but you have other insurance options other than the one offered through Verizon. You just have to check into those options and find what works for you. You might also need to consider being more vigilant when it comes to your devices. Sometimes, theft is unavoidable, but sometimes...if you seem to repeatedly be a victim of it then you might need to evaluate your habits that may make it easier for you to be a target.

Important clarification: AppleCare+ covers damage, but *NOT* lost/stolen.

I stand corrected. Aside from that error, the OP and anyone else does have other insurance options that they can consider that may cover lost/stolen devices if I'm not mistaken. If I'm wrong on that also then the only advice would be to be a bit more vigilant with your phone and hope to significantly reduce the possibility of theft/loss. I know it can happen to anyone...I just think if it happens to your repeatedly then you have to really look at your own responsibility and what you can do to lessen the risk.

I agree with u. Maybe she thinks it's cheaper to replace it which it is. Cheaper Dosent mean better. I have had less errors with an iPhone then a droid. Droids are $90 instead of $160 or more.

I may be missing the point, but what about "Find My iPhone"? It's free to anyone with an iPhone 4 and up, and signed up to MobileMe (the free version for Find My iPhone) and iCloud

With Find My iPhone enabled, if the phone is lost or stolen, just go online to the Find My iPhone website, log in, and a google maps map will show up with the location of the phone, go to said location and get it, and if stolen, you can also find out who the theif is (or whoever got to from said thief)

Of course the iPhone needs to be on and the service needs to be enabled for it to work, if the OP didn't sign up and enable Find My iPhone, that's the OP's fault, not Apple's
