When i try to use the phone in it's normal form (holding it up to my ear and speaking), no one can hear me on the other end! and its not on mute, i've made sure! should i just take it into the store?

The problems you have described would be very irritating. Let's look into the together.
When did the issue start after an application was downloaded? Did you recently put the device in a case? Is the bluetooth feature active? If so, please turn it off.
