We just purchased this iPhone 4S tonight. Have been unable to connect it to the computer. Have tried entering the code numerous times but keeps stating its an error. We know it's the correct number. Any way to get around this?

What code are you talking about? I went to Starbucks and used wifi to get it done activated. I would also call on a different phone to check to see if they have the meid on file for the number your putting the phone on. Sometimes it doesent activate the first time if you've never had a smart phone before. *228 option 1 works to activate it will ask you confirmation of things.

I know it's irritating when your computer doesn't recognize your phone! I'd like to help. What code are you entering that is not being recognized? Do you mean your Apple ID username or password? Have you tried to sync with iTunes? Please post back with some additional information so we can resolve this for you. Thanks! ^CB

My iPhone 4S would not backup to my computer. Verizon nor Apple could fix the issue. iTunes was asking for an encrypted password that I NEVER set up. No possible default passwords worked. Everyone was stumped. Apple said to backup to iCloud. The session of 1.4GB never finished in 7 Hours. All data was there... but the session wouldn't terminate.
I created a new user on my computer, I trashed iTunes and reinstalled it... nothing worked.
Now, I get NO cell Data. This phone and service SUCKS!

teslaguy I can tell how frustrated you must be because of this issue. Since you did talk to Apple and us, were you able to get a replacement since none of the troubleshooting worked?
Did the sync ever work for you? Also, was the hard reset ever done on the device?
