Pleeeeeze, pleeeeze can somebody help? I had an iPhone 4S for 2 years, upgraded to a Samsung and gave my iPhone to my sister that's based in South Africa. How does she unlock it so that she can use it there with another service provider?
If you (or your sister) are not a Verizon customer, then Verizon will not unlock the device for you (or her).
Google Search for "unlock iphone 4s verizon" to find a third party unlocking service and purchase an unlocking code from a vendor.
If you ARE a Verizon customer and have had the device active on your Verizon account, in good standing, for the specified period of time, then they will unlock it for you.
