Hi,

I am not a Verizon customer but I have a question regarding a Verizon iPhone 4S device.

The parents of a friend were tricked to buy a used device why visiting the US. When they got back to Israel with the device they understood they cannot use it with a local sim. I tried to check how the device can be unlocked and found web sites that promise to unlock the device if you pay them and the process take around 10 days. Those web sites look like scam sites. I was wondering if there's an official process of unlocking a device by Verizon (even if a payment is required).
