If you haven't already, you do have iOS5 update available for the iPhone 4.

It will depend on Apple bt if they follow update history of the other devices, you usually see 2 or 3 major updates before they will discontinue support for newer OS.

In general, Apple supports devices for several years...you will know at each update all of the devices supported on that update. Currently, the latest iOS 5 continues to support the iPhone 3GS, which should give you an idea of how long Apple tends to support older devices. No one here can tell you when the next iOS update will be, but it will more than likely continue to support the iPhone 4.

It came out yesterday. Ios5.1 there was 5.0.01 before that.
