I was just wondering when phones are generally eligible for upgrade, is it two years after activating the phone?
Also, I have an iPhone 4s and I was wondering that when I am eligible for an upgrade, will I be able to upgrade to the iPhone 5 without there being a lot of money to pay?
I'm just confused on what phones are available to upgrade after having an iPhone 4s.

You can upgrade after completing 20 months of your two-year contract (dial #UPG for your upgrade date).
Looks like the iPhone 5 is currenty $199.99 if you're eligible to upgrade.

I would have to pay the whole $199.99 when I'm available for a new phone?

Yes, plus a $30 upgrade fee. And if you have unlimited data, you'll lose it by signing a new two-year contract.
