i have to agree that it's a bit confusing, particularly when some of them only carry verizon phones and deal with verizon services. the only way to really tell is a small "fine print" type of disclaimer under the giant verizon logo.....but they are really no different than going to costco or best buy, or some of those other corner shops that sell for multiple carriers. when everything about the store appears to be verizon, you would think it was verizon.

And it says premium reseller. If you get a replacement under warranty and you send them back a damaged phone it is a charge of the difference between full retail and the price you paid like $299 or so. The $700 is f you dont return it at all. If you returned them a fully broken phone then that's on you. Asorion takes care of lost water damage etc. warranty is through apple or Verizon. You can't have droid insurance on an iPhone. I never in my 3 yrs with Verizon could pay the whole premium. $9.99 a month is extended warranty through Verizon and damage through asorion.

Call financial services to make payment araingement to keep service. Now that you have a replacement you might be able to add insurance.

That $299 policy is a Verizon policy no matter where you buy the phone. If I find a scratch or anything I call tech if the phones being replaced if I am going to be charged or notate that someone at the store scratched it etc.

I cannot tell if the OP had the insurance or not on the phone. If she did and they are claiming damage the phone should be shipped back to her(They should charge her for shipping) and let  her go through the insurance.

You know, Verizon has all the power here.  They can send you a picture of any phone when you send yours back.  Then they say they cannot send it back to you but can't really give me a reason why.  If you don't pay the $299, they will disconnect your service.  I guess the only way around all of this is to file a legal complaint with the BBB and the State Attorney General's office.  How many people in these economic times can afford to be out $700 for a cell phone?

Dispute the charge with financial services.

Same here.  Very poor service and little, almost hidden wording in contract, really gets you.  I got Verizon because they said they had a better data plan so I could use my tablet in non-wifi areas with my phones cell service.  After over six months, I can't even use my phone at home and I'm only about a mile from the Verizon store and suppose to have good service.

My husband threw away the boxes the phone came in before I knew it.  When I tried to cancel my service and go back to the wonderful Cellular One I had for over 10 years, I was told it would cost $300.00 per phone (2 phones-$600) just because we didn't have the original boxes plus all the other charges for cancelling early but yet they haven't done anything to improve the service.  As soon as my 2 year contract is up, I'm gone and I definately won't recommend them for anyone in East Texas.

PS.  When I travel to Houston or Austin, the service is great!!!  But I spend most of my time at home.

Where in East Tx. Being near a store does not mean great service and the store may be a third party reseller.

As for returning devices, the return policy does explain it clearly that the boxes and all contents are required. Reason being, you may have already sent for a rebate and the box determines whether to issue a full refund or a refund minus a rebate.

Lufkin. The store is at 2002 South 1st Street #400, Lufkin, TX. I live in the Fuller Springs area. I get decent service in some areas but work from my home office and when the phone rings, I have to run to the back yard (out of the house) to answer. I’m a Realtor and have told all clients, customers and fellow Realtors to avoid Verizon and explain the dropped calls, missed calls, delayed voice mail and text messages are because of the Verizon service. I can hardly wait until my contract is up to get out of this but will continue to tell people that complain about my returning phone calls in a timely manner and not answering is due to the poor Verizon service.

What more can I say. I was told contracts for more towers and improved service was coming soon and that was last December and it’s got worse, if anything.
