My volume is up all the way and my ringtone is loud and clear as are conversations. But when I make a call I can barely hear the ring and outgoing message of the number I'm calling. (This is an iphone G4S) Ideas?

When placing a call, the iPhone defaults to using the small speaker located at the top of the front screen. This is generally loud enough if you hold the front screen up to your ear. If you need more volume, or don't want to hold the screen up to your ear, tap the SPEAKER button on tje screen after placing the call. The sound will now come out of the louder speaker on the bottom edge of your iPhone.

VLD, let's make sure you can hear everyone that you're calling. First are you holding the phone to your ear using standard earpiece or using the speakerphone? As thomprodforum suggested, have you tried switching to speakerphone to see if the ring is louder?
