activate iPhone 4S with no box?

Can I activate a used iPhone 4S with no box? Im buying one online and I want to know. Would I need an IMEI number? Isn't that only on the box? If I don't have the box will I be able to pass the set up screen?

The IMEI number should also be somewhere on the phone itself.

Other Verizon phones have it behind the battery. The iPhone doesn't have a removable battery. It would be in settings but how do I get in settings if I can't get passed the first activation screen?

There is a bunch of stuff printed on the back of the phone.  It would available in the settings information on the phone.  You can check the SIM card (overseas use only) tray to see if it is there.

Maybe a user who owns a iPhone 4S, will reply and can verify where to find the IMEI number on the phone.

Ill try that. I currently have an iPhone 4 and its physically no where to be found. Its only in the settings. And for this sim card. Do I have to go to Verizon and pick one up?

You won't need the SIM card for the phone to work on the Verizon Wireless network.  You only would need it if you use the phone overseas where you are roaming on a GSM network.

When you turn it on there will be a gray phone screen and an I icon it will have the imeid number appear
