Jim I don't believe that option is available on iOS devices I could do that on my droid but I do not see the option on the iPhone

Thank you to the community for your input! soupcannon is correct; though Android devices have the ability to forward certain numbers to voice mail automatically, the iPhone does not. Please note that if you do not answer the call or if you ignore the call, it will be sent to your voice mail.

If using either of our call forwarding features, all calls are forwarded, and you are not given the option to forward only certin numbers. In addition, it bypasses your voice mail. Call forwarding is not recommended for you if you only want to forward one number.

We also have a Call and Message Blocking feature, that allows you to block up to 5 numbers at no cost on each line. Here's a link for that information: http://www.vzw.com/spamcontrols

When I go to sign up for the Call and Message Blocking feature (that allows you to block up to 5 numbers for free) it says my device is not eligible for this service (I have an iPhone 4).  How can this be?

I do it on mine , are you the account holder i believe that is the only one able to block numbers tho you can block them for every number on the account

Donnie, great news! The Call & Message block is available for the iPhone 4.

If you are the account owner you need to sign in to My Verizon to add the free feature. Once you have added the feature it will alow you to add numbers to the blocked number list.

Are you signing in as the account owner? Do you see the option to the add the Call & Message Block feature? Where are you see it say that your phone is not eligible for the service?

Please provide more info so I can further assist.

The Verizon Call Forwarding only forwards all calls, not individual ones, but I discovered an alternative way around it (sort of) and use it for a certain contact that had a tendency to call me at work for trivial matters that were blown out of proportion. 

I'm using a Samsung S6 with Verizon.  I use the free Youmail account for messages, not the Verizon.  Create the contact, then use your cell phone to Block the contact by touching the 3 vertical dots in the upper right, next to where it says Edit. I experimented with it using my landline.  I blocked it, then called my cell from the landline, it went straight into the Youmail voice mail w/o ringing.  Of course I didn't want my landline blocked, so I just unblocked it and blocked the contact in question.
