Wow kris71! That's a lot of duplicate contacts! Apple has some great steps at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4147 to help resolve duplicate contacts. There are also third-party applications through the iTunes store https://itunes.apple.com that will clean up duplicate contacts on Apple products, but I would highly recommend going through Apple's support suggestions first.
