I have the iPhone 4 and I noticed when sending msgs to other iPhone users some of them go thru as an iMessage and others go thru as a regular txt msg. I have deleted the iPhone contact and reenter them and put their number in as iPhone number but that has not worked. What can I do to fix this issue? Thank you!

There are a few things that might can help. First make sure the other iPhone users are running iOS 5 and have iMessage turned on. Secondly you may have to have them other person(s) send u an iMessage first.

iMessages need to have both users registered, and both must be connected to the iMessages server. You can disable send as SMS through the iMessages settings to ensure you only send them as iMessages.

Im haveing same problem. I have done what you said and I know the person I send to had it on. I sent one turned blue stayed blue. I did another one to the same person and it was blue then turned green after sent. We both have don't send as SMS but it still did.
Verizon acts like the SMS off doesent exists tells me to do a text block but that doesent solve issue that just gives you a way around so they will never know it isent doing it right.
I understand paying for a text but not one that's free.

Are you guys sure you have it set your numbers when sending it? If you have it set as your email and someone sends it to your phone number it'll send it as SMS as your email is what is registered for example.

I'm the one sending it to my husband. One time I do the number and it sends correct then under the same conversation it then when I send another it first blue like normal then is green after sent. I have the settings to not send on SMS he has same settings with IMessage set to on. We both have 5.0 or beyond.
Maybe you can explain about email?

I don't have any issues with my iMessage so I'm not sure if this is relevant but check your iMessage settings. Under "Receive At" does it show your phone number, apple id email address or another email address? If it's not your phone number then this may be part of the issue? Honestly not sure but it's worth looking at just in case.
