Hi,
During the last 2 months my iPhone 4 has been losing 3G signal pretty much every time I try using anything involving data. I've done tons of research and none of the troubleshooting options has worked for me, I've tried:
-Resetting network settings
-Enable/disable data roaming
-Full restore with the latest firmware
-Re-programing and updating the phone via *228
The signal strength in my areas (DC & NYC) is always at full bars and the phone keeps dropping to the "o" symbol.
Is this a hardware issue? Apple replaced my phone (for an unrelated issue) back in June 2011 and I'm wondering if the phone they gave me is defective.
Thanks!

Well, I gotta say... Verizon's twitter support is amazing!
I sent out a tweet linking to this thread and got an immediate response with a couple of troubleshooting suggestions. Still no luck so they just told me they will send a replacement phone right away...wow!
Fingers crossed to get this resolved.
Curious now, since the 32gb iPhone 4 is no longer available... I'm guessing I'll be getting a refurbished phone?

Hi! Does your phone have a case? That happened to my husband's iphone when he first got it. We thought he got a lemon, but then after researching the internet, one suggested that he put an iphone cover, and voila! Signal's never been interrupted since 🙂
