iPhone 4 return/trade-in policy?
lovesinthestars

I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, but I need some feedback.

I bought a 16GB iPhone 4 yesterday (I'm happy with it).  After loading music, contacts, and a few apps on there, I'm positive I should've gone with the 32GB instead.  I have too much music to fit on the 16GB.  Against my better judgment I opened everything up and have been using it for a day now.  Is there anyway I could return everything and get some type of credit in exchanging it for a 32GB model?  I have a feeling I'm basically screwed, but I'd appreciate any insight to the matter.  The phone itself looks brand new...I'm just wondering if they'd let me trade it in for one with more space?

Yep, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to return or exchange any phone. You can only exchange your phone once, so if you do exchange it for the 32gb model, you are stuck with that one. It will cost you a $35 restocking fee, plus the difference between the 16gb and 32gb model.

By "opened everything up" do you just mean "unpacked, assembled and used" the phone?  If so, as the other poster said, you have 14 days to exchange it.

If you mean [terms of service violation] well, that's different!  (Undo before returning)

I didn't jailbreak it or anything, if that's what you mean.  I just opened the package, unwrapped the earphones and USB cable, and have been using the phone for two days now.  That's all.  I didn't mess with the OS or anything...

And a sharp knife to cut a hole in the casing to push it in.

A battery pull might help, too...

No don't do any of those. Wasn't there a poster who actually opened the iPhone and pulled the battery after a Verizon employee said to?

I don't think that the person actually did those things in that old thread.  I think that the poster was just pulling our legs!
