iPhone 4S light suddenly came on and won't turn off!!!

I have "googled" this issue and have learned that others have had this issue and it was a hardware issue due to moisture. My question is, my phone has not been exposed to liquid so could it be a different issue and will it eventually cause other problems with my phone other than the light constantly being on? I used itunes to do a restore and it did not help (advice I found on an Apple forum) Any advice would be appreciated.

Where is the light?

It's the little light on the back of the phone beside the camera lens. It becomes brighter at times, but has been on since last Thursday .

@lrb0270 - Have you had any success with turning off the light? I'm not sure if you have tried this, but try performing an alternate restart by holding down simultaneously both your home and power buttons for about 10 seconds. If you have a Apple store nearby I would take it in to have them look it over. If you do not have one, I recommend taking it to one of our direct store locations for review. We may still be able to cover it under warranty.
