iPhone 4s iMessage issue

I can't get the iMessage to stay on? I have tried #228 and still no iMessage. C
Has someone had the same issue?

First and obvious question, are you certain that the phone on the receiving end of your message is iMessage-capable?

Yes. I have tried with two friends who have iPhone 4s phones. When I go to settings, the iMessage light is off. I slide it on but it goes off when I exit out of settings.

Okay, might be time to try a hard reset on the phone. If that doesn't do it, try the Apple iphone forums. There's a lot of really good info there.
