instructions on how to call a verizon iphone 4s which is being used in Germany

My wife's iPhone 4s was unlocked to be used in Germany. Now when she inserts the Sim card she purchased in Germany what number do I dial from US to call her?

The whole idea of taking the Verizon iPhone to Germany was to keep same phone # that was on the phone here in US.

this was verified by Verizon CS, I was told when I want to call my wife's phone I just do it same way as if she is in US.

If she's using a german sim card, she has a german phone number to use over there, and you need to call the german number she has gotten. the german local carrier's rates apply for her usage.

If she's using the Verizon sim card, she has her Verizon phone number over there, and you just call her the same as you would when she is in the US. Verizon roaming rates apply for her usage.

That only works if she uses the Vodafone SIM card that came with the phone when you purchased it. You also needed to add the international calling plan to her line and perhaps the global data plan.

Once she purchased a local SIM card and plan, she is no longer connecting her phone to the cellular network with the same phone number. Each SIM card has a separate number associated with it.

That's exactly what I asked the "very knowledgeable" CS guy in global services dep., he answered: you just call her on her Verizon number".
